Menstrual health and what's normal, a talk by Dr Alice Gallen
From 6pm to 7pm at Frome Medical Practice, a talk with one of our GPs, Dr Alice Gallen. Join us for a myth-busting women’s health talk, exploring what’s normal in menstrual health and when to seek help. Covering anatomy, hormones, red flags, and lifelong cycle changes, with practical advice.
Workshop For Parents and Carers - Resilience
This workshop will take place at the practice from 5.30pm to 7pm. It will be facilitated by Young Somerset and is an opportunity to meet other parents / carers and share common concerns.
We will talk about what helps young people (primary and secondary age) to strengthen their resilience.
COPD Support Group
The COPD Support Group takes place on the second Thursday of the month from 10:30am to 12pm in the Education Room at the practice. Aimed at patients with various lung conditions, for example chronic bronchitis and emphysema.
No need to book, just come along, but please call the Health Connections team on 01373 468368 if you’d like more information.
Community Connector training
Join us for this one hour simple, fun training session, from 11am to midday, and find out more about the support available in our community and how you can help friends, family, colleagues and neighbours find out what help is available to them if needed.
Digital Health Support Pop Up
We want to support as many patients as possible to use the NHS App and other online services. Come to our Saturday pop up at Frome Market (Cattle Market Car Park - look for our pop up banner), from 9am to midday where the team can offer support with the NHS App, other Health Apps or any digital query specifically relating to Frome Medical Practice. No appointment necessary. Please bring your mobile device or tablet if possible.
Menopause Group Discussion
You must register if you wish to attend this session. These are not drop-in sessions and people booked to attend need to arrive for a 6pm start.
Our Menopause Group Discussions take place each month and start at 6pm (usually finishing by 8pm). The sessions are aimed at people who are perimenopausal or menopausal and considering taking HRT for the first time. Find out more here and complete our online form registering your interest and we will be in touch to confirm there's a space for you at this session.
Adventures In Menstrution! Comedy Performance
Join us for a funny, frank, and inclusive show, with Chella Quint OBE, based on her 5-star Edinburgh Fringe run and CBBC Newsround’s Let’s Talk About Periods special. Expect history, activism, craftivism and plenty of laughs, as we break menstrual taboos together. Free to attend but please book here.
Living with depression - focus group
Join us for this event at the practice, from 10:30am to midday, where we want to hear what has helped you if you've experienced mild to moderate depression. By sharing what helped you, you can help shape how we as a community can support others who may currently be struggling.
Plastic Free. Period. Pop Up Stall
Are you keen to explore the world of plastic-free period products for yourself or someone in your care? Do you want to reduce the negative impact that traditional period products made of plastic have on our waterways and our bodies? If so, come along to our pop up stall, from 11am to 4pm, in the Westway Precinct, for a chance to find out more about plastic free period products, exclusive discounts, and more details on making the switch.
Pelvic Health Talk
From 6pm to 7pm at Frome Medical Practice, join us for this session led by Joanna Stanton, Pelvic Health Physiotherapist covering everything you meant to ask about pelvic health, incontinence, and core strength. This will be a relaxed, informative evening, with practical advice you can trust.
Pain Cafe
The Pain Cafe is a peer support group for anyone living with chronic pain and is a chance to get with others in a safe environment, in which to talk and share experiences.
Takes place every last Friday of the month, from 11:30am to 1pm in the Education Room (upstairs and turn left) at the practice.
Long Term Conditions Group
The Long-Term Conditions group is an opportunity to meet with other people who live with a long-term condition. This is a safe environment in which to talk and share experiences.
The group meets on the 1st Thursday of each month from 10:30am to 12:30pm in the Boardroom (Upstairs) at Frome Medical Practice.
