Frome Medical Practice Wins ISPA Digital Inclusion Champion Award

We’re delighted to share that Frome Medical Practice has been named Digital Inclusion Champion - Charities and Communities at the 27th annual ISPA Awards, held in London, on 13th November 2025.

This award celebrates organisations making a real difference in tackling digital exclusion, a challenge that affects health, independence, and access to essential services. We were shortlisted alongside some incredible initiatives, including BizEd Projects CIC, Diversity Bridge SCIO, Poplar Harca, and Wavemaker Stoke CIC.

Why this matters

Over the past year, we’ve worked hard to close the digital gap in healthcare. Through Digital Health Desks, Digital Cafés, and pop-up sessions in places like libraries, supermarkets, and food banks, we’ve helped thousands of people gain the confidence and skills to use online NHS services.

Some highlights of our work includes:

  • Over 3500 patients supported with digital skills and access to IT
  • Significant increase in NHS App uptake, well above national and regional averages (over 4,400 patients supported to access their NHS App in last 3 years)
  • 80% increase in appointments booked via the NHS App
  • Partnerships providing free devices and mobile data to those who need them most

This isn’t just about technology, it’s about independence, confidence, and making healthcare accessible for everyone.

Helen Milner OBE, CEO of Good Things Foundation, said “The exceptional volume and calibre of applications for the Charities and Communities Digital Inclusion Award underscored the vital digital inclusion work happening across the UK. The chosen finalists thoughtfully presented impactful projects that tackle both digital access and skills.”

The ISPA Awards are the UK’s longest-running broadband and internet awards, recognising excellence in connectivity and innovation. In partnership with Good Things Foundation, the Digital Inclusion Champion category shines a spotlight on organisations working to ensure no one is left behind in the digital age, a mission that’s more important than ever as essential services move online.
