Frome Medical Practice Celebrates Being Shortlisted for Prestigious HSJ Digital Awards
Frome Medical Practice has been shortlisted for a Health Service Journal Digital Award, for their work on digital health support. This year marks a milestone for the HSJ Digital Awards, with a record-breaking 468 entries submitted. Of these, 201 projects have been shortlisted.
The HSJ Digital Awards recognise teams and organisations that are using technology in practical ways to improve care and reduce inequalities. Being shortlisted in the Reducing Health Inequalities through Digital category highlights the impact of Frome Medical Practice’s work in helping local residents access healthcare more easily.
A key part of this success has been working closely with partners, including Good Things Foundation and Donate IT, whose support has helped provide devices and mobile data to people in the community who would otherwise struggle to get online. This has enabled Frome Medical Practice to reach residents who are most at risk of being excluded as more health services move online. This collaborative approach is a strong example of neighbourhood working, as set out in the NHS Long Term Plan, which emphasises local partnerships, community-based solutions and prevention to improve health outcomes and reduce inequalities.

This recognition reflects the dedication of our team in providing Digital Health Desks and Digital Cafés at venues across Frome that aim to empower residents with skills and confidence to access healthcare online. We provide hands-on support, devices and data, encourage patients to use the NHS App and help reduce barriers to care. This all helps make a positive difference in patient care. We are enormously proud of the work we are doing on digital inclusion and look forward to the HSJ Awards ceremony later this year.”
