Launch Of Our Women’s Health Hub

Frome Medical Practice is launching a new Women’s Health Hub, bringing together a wide range of women’s health services under one roof for the benefit of the local community. The hub will officially launch during National Women’s Health Week, running from 11th to 17th May 2026.

In 2025, we held a series of women’s focus groups to better understand what local women would like to see more of in their healthcare services. The development of the Women’s Health Hub is a direct response to this feedback and aims to provide more joined-up care and a broader range of services for women.

The hub will support easier and quicker access to the right care, offering services including menopause support, menstrual health, sexual health and cervical screening, contraception, pelvic pain management, family planning, and more. We will also work closely with secondary care colleagues at the Royal United Hospitals (RUH) in Bath through multidisciplinary meetings, as well as with Somerset NHS Foundation Trust, to enhance education around pelvic floor health.

Dr Neha Bhagi is one of our GP Partners at the practice and said, “We are well placed to act as a Women’s Health Hub, bringing together expert clinicians, a wide range of services, and our strong connections with community support to improve women’s health and wellbeing.”

The hub has been shaped by community feedback gathered over the past two years, with the aim of improving women’s experiences of care and delivering better health outcomes. Matisse Lack, Health Psychology Project Worker at the practice, is part of the team who organised the feedback sessions and said, “Women have told us that knowing what support is available, and how to access it, really matters. Through the Women’s Health Hub, we want women to feel confident they can get help when they need it, from clinicians who are knowledgeable, supportive and experienced in women’s health."

Frome Medical Practice provides care for women at all stages of life. This includes a Young Person’s Clinic offering mental and sexual health support, group clinics for hormone replacement therapy (HRT), and a dedicated women’s lifestyle support programme. As part of the new hub, we will also deliver a regular programme of educational talks and group-based support.

The first of these initiatives will be a women’s health focused edition of the practice’s free healthy lifestyle programme, Habits for Health. The 6 week programme begins on Tuesday 9th June and runs from 10:30am to 12:00pm at the practice.
