Events at Frome Medical Practice

 

12th to 15th May

We have organised a series of events and drop-in sessions to mark Mental Health Week and the launch of our Women’s Health Hub.

All events will take place at the practice, either at our awareness table in the main reception area or the Live Well Room, the glass office on the left as you come into the main reception area.

All our patients are invited to drop in and speak with the organisations joining us throughout the week.

Tuesday 12th May

11:30am to 1pm: Older Peoples Mental Health (OPMH) drop in. Support and advice on mental health for people aged 65 and over, for yourself or someone you care about.

11:30am to 3pm: Meet the local police team at our awareness table. Information on Violence Against Women and Girls and the Walk and Talk project.

1pm to 3pm: Somerset Drug and Alcohol Service (SDAS) confidential drop in. Come along to chat about any concerns you have about your own or someone else’s drug or alcohol use.

2pm to 4pm: Nelson Trust confidential drop in. Support for people affected by substance use, domestic abuse, trauma and related needs.

Wednesday 13th May

10am to midday: Keyring drop-in support for people with a learning disability or mental health needs.

2pm to 3:30pm: Frome’s Dementia Action Alliance Café will be at the InTouch Café, based at the practice. For anyone affected by dementia, come along to meet new people and have time to talk in a supportive space.

Thursday 14th May

All day: Join us for ‘Wear It Green Day’ for Mental Health Awareness Week (11th to 17th May 2026). Let’s turn the world green for good mental health!

Time tbc: Better Nature drop-in with Tom and Babs. Learn how connecting with nature can support mental health and wellbeing.

Time tbc: Meet Zac from Wild Memories and Froglife. Information on local nature and wildlife activities for people living with dementia or memory loss.

10am to 12:30 midday: Frome Birth Talk drop-in. Find out about free and low cost mental health support for parents and young families, including toddler groups, baby loss support and counselling services.

Friday 15th May

9:30am to 11:30am: Meet Rebecca and Charlie from MIND, your local mental health charity. If you or a loved one are struggling, come along to find out about mental health support, including groups, one-to-one support, and phone services.

10am to midday: Purple Elephant drop-in information stand. Free and low cost support for local families, particularly those facing challenges such as poor mental health, disabilities or additional needs, addiction, low income or social isolation.
