Asthma
What does Frome Medical Practice offer?
If you suffer with asthma and use an inhaler you will be invited to an annual review with a Nurse. These 20 minute reviews can also be requested through our appointments page.
Asthma Action Plans
If you use a written asthma action plan you are four times less likely to be admitted to hospital for your asthma.
You can request an Asthma Action Plan by contacting us.
Types of Asthma Inhaler
We are working with patients to try and switch use from Metered Dose Inhalers to Dry Powder Inhalers, where this is appropriate.
Inhalers and preventing waste
Did you know you don't need to order a new inhaler every month, if you have enough stock at home?
The following link gives our patients helpful information about managing inhaler stock, which can help you make decisions about when to order your inhaler repeat prescription.
How to manager your inhaler stock and prevent medicines waste
We encourage patients to recycle their inhalers when possible. You can do this at several pharmacies in Frome, including St Aldhelm's, Boots and ASDA.
