Very pleased with Frome Medical Practice. Had a scare with DVT and was referred immediately over to ambulatory care at the hospital. Was able to call up around 2pm and the care coordinator sorted a telephone call back, which then proceeded into an actual appointment at 4pm. Was treated with dignity, care and respect, and the diagnosis and investigation time was incredibly quick. Would reccomend anyone to join this GP surgery.

Making an appointment with a GP
The process for making appointments has changed, it appears, and needed to be explained to me. But I followed the instructions and was able to speak to someone on the phone the following morning and then see a GP later that day. I was impressed, as in the past I have had to wait several days for an appointment and on a previous occasion I couldn't bear the pain and so chose to go the MIU in the hospital.

Do not deserve the complaints they receive
all I ever read is people moaning about being on hold on the phone. It's often the same people and they choose to make the whole process harder for themselves. Simply log in online and book an appointment to speak to a doctor for when it suits you, you'll then be seen! The care from the receptionists, nurse practitioners through to the doctors has been spot on every time I have needed to use their services. People seem oblivious to how this 'new' system has been in place in numerous parts of the country for years and has improved care and services. No care is jeopardised, the place is fantastic.

Moved to Frome a couple of years ago, easy to win up as a new patient. Telephones always answered within an acceptable time frame. Easy to book online appointments so you can chose when a GP gives you a call. For ongoing conditions appointments can be made. Receptionists are always very polite. I have used the doctors 5 times since living here, on all of them I have spoken to a doctor by 10am and been seen by midday. Please don't let negative reviews influence your decision to join, you only have to look on social media to see how silly many of the complaints are. 5 start service and would like to praise every member of staff at the practice.
