Home Visits
What is a home visit?
A home visit is when a health professional visits a patient’s home. Health professionals such as a Doctor or Nurse carry out home visits.
Home visits are appropriate and worthwhile for some patients but are not needed in most instances. Our telephone triage service enables us to consider whether a home visit is necessary.
When are home visits appropriate or worthwhile?
Home visits may be needed for patients who are terminally ill, confined to bed or so poorly there is a risk of harm if they are moved.
How to request a home visit?
If you think you need a home visit please telephone the Practice on 01373 301301.
