Take part in our ‘Be Healthy, Be Happy’ programme

We'd like to invite you to take part in our 'Be Healthy, Be Happy' programme to help you become your ‘best’ self. This means trying to help you be the most happy and healthy you can be.

There is evidence that shows many of our long term health problems can be really helped by the way we live our lives. We also know that many chronic health problems are not well managed by medicines alone and often the medicine just treats symptoms and doesn't get to the cause of the problem.

What is the Be Healthy, Be Happy programme?

Our Be Healthy, Be Happy programme is aimed at patients with one or more long term health condition and will help you to become a better manager of your own health and happiness. The programme is free for our patients to attend. 

The programme will take over five weeks, with one session each week. These will take place in the evening and will last an hour each week. 

The first session is a workshop on identifying your personal needs and goals, which will help you identify areas in your life you can change and ones that you are happy you can stick with. We will then help you understand how to form new good habits and behaviours on a small scale, which can eventually lead to big changes in your health and happiness.

After this session, there are four more sessions, which look at the following topics in more detail: 

  • Movement
  • Sleep
  • Eating
  • Emotional and social wellbeing

These sessions will be run by health coaches from our Health Connections team, as well as by Dr Rob Taylor. They will last for an hour and will include some time for discussion in the group about how to put new habits in place.
