After ten years of planning, the construction of the new Frome Health Centre started on the 26 July 2011 on a site adjacent to the new Community Hospital at Fromefield.
This new centre will incorporate the surgeries currently at the Health Centre, Park Road and Saffron, Berkley Road together with an in house optician, pharmacy and café. Other services including a dentist, full GP and nurse training facilities are planned together a minor operating theatre and other services and clinics currently only available at Bath or Shepton Mallet.
Interserve Construction Limited are the building contractors and the building is scheduled to be open in September 2012.
