Kerry Sant is a lymphoedema nurse specialist with 20 year’s experience working in the clinical practice of lymphoedema. She has an MSc in rehabilitation and has trained in Vodder, Leduc and Fluoroscopy-Guided manual lymphatic drainage. She is also the senior lymphoedema practitioner at the Royal United Hospital NHS foundation trust and is passionate about lymphoedema care.
- Decongestive lymphatic therapy
- Manual lymphatic drainage
- Lymphatic kinesiotaping
Lymphoedema is the permanent (chronic) swelling of a part of the body due to a build-up of fluid in the skin. Lymphoedema can be managed and controlled with treatment and compliance with daily self-care. Even severe and chronic lymphoedema will respond well to appropriate treatment over time.
Flow lymphoedema care offers both a therapeutic and remedial service for the management of primary and secondary lymphoedema and lipoedema, bringing together the four cornerstone disciplines of decongestive lymphatic therapy – Manual Lymphatic Drainage [MLD], Compression Therapy, Skin Care and Exercise. Lymphatic kinesiotaping can also be used to aid lymph flow. Flow can offer additional physical therapies not always available within the NHS and will always seek to complement your existing treatment regimes.
Ear Wax Clinic
Sister Teresa Munro RGN - Somerset Ear Wax Clinic
Teresa removes ear wax by irrigation, which has replaced the old-fashioned technique of ear syringing. She uses an electronic ear irrigation machine which gently pumps water into the ear canal. The water breaks down and dislodges the ear wax build-up and then flushes it out of the canal. In most cases the blockage is removed in minutes.
Teresa will also carry out an ear check prior to audiology appointments.
There are some conditions for which ear irrigation isn’t appropriate.
