FairTrade Fortnight Rewards!
Many of our patients will already be aware of our commitment to Green Impact, including a commitment where possible to buy from both FairTrade suppliers and local suppliers.
As part of our support for FairTrade Fortnight (which has just ended) we are delighted to have joined up with Clifton Coffee Roasters and are rewarding staff who have gone beyond and above their job descriptions with FairTrade themed hampers. The nominations for the awards all came from our own staff at the Frome Medical Practice themselves.
We are extremely pleased to have Clifton Coffee support our staff reward. Additionally, they have recently installed an efficient eco-friendly water boiler which has made a huge difference, both in time saved and energy costs saved.
Ed Buston is a Director at Cliifton Coffee Roasters.
‘Clifton Coffee are leading coffee roasters in the UK speciality coffee market, with an award-winning and highly talented team searching for the best coffees by forming direct trade and working relationships with coffee producers,’ says Ed. We are proud to be merchants for the biggest FairTrade Tea company in the UK, Clipper Teas.’
‘Clifton Coffee is also proud to work with like-minded people and we are delighted to be sponsoring hampers as staff prizes for the Green Impact Award at the Frome Medical Practice,’ adds Ed’.
The 4 special winners of the FairTrade Awards were:
Gareth has made a great contribution to the practice over the last 6 months (and in recent years), as the many thanks given for a wide range of things on people show. Some of the contributions made include: helping the practice to achieve the National Green Impact Award, he has worked hard to make positive change and improvements to our telephone service. His support made ease of recent office moves and setting up of improved working and meeting spaces and he regularly makes improvements with a solution focussed approach to all he does.
Jude was recently nominated by staff as the Frome Person of the year and was featured in an article by the Frome Times for all her amazing commitment to the role, her patients and the rest of the team. She also received the most nominations by staff for an award. The endorsements made by staff as part of the entry spoke volumes about Jude and how much she will be missed when she retires.
Kaityln has successfully made the transition from apprentice Care Navigator to Finance Clerk. What makes Kaitlyn’s nomination stand out is all the additional support she has given to the Script and the Care Navigator team over recent months. This has also included coming in to support the change-over to 56 day scripts. She has done all of this willingly with a smile. In her own role she has helped to improve procurement and make some positive changes to the team.
Nominations and thanks for Vic have come from a variety of sources. She has really helped support staff morale, and contributed to recent practice shared lunch days with some amazing home cooked curries. In her day job she has really helped to make some significant improvements to the leg ulcer service offered, this has included making it more viable. Our current campaign to encourage women to have a cervical smear was initiated by Vic, who engaged the local beauticians Inner Beauty. Vic will be leading the drop in on the first Saturday this month.
Karen Creffield is the Practice Manager at the Frome Medical Practice.
‘As well as these 4 winners, there were also 14 other staff who received nominations and received a FairTrade chocolate as a ‘thank you.’ We are very lucky to have such wonderful staff working here at the Practice who are all dedicated to the health and well-being of our patients.’
