Young People / Stress & Worry
What does Frome Medical Practice offer?
We recognise that the coronavirus pandemic is a really difficult time for everyone and more and more people are feeling stressed and anxious as a result. We have heard from young people that they are finding it particularly difficult, with changes to their schooling and exams, lack of social contact, reduced employment opportunities and concern about the future, for example, and so we have developed a series of sessions to help.
These sessions aim to help you understand your body's response to stress, and to help you begin to find useful strategies to try and combat these effects. Over the course of the sessions, we will focus on managing stress and worry, specifically in relation to the challenges that lockdown brings and the increased restrictions it is having on our day to day life.
We are offering three online education sessions and for you to get the most out of these sessions, we really encourage you to attend all three sessions. The dates of the sessions, which will take place online, are as follows;
- Thursday 4th February 4-5 pm
- Thursday 11th February 4-5 pm
- Thursday 18th February 4-5 pm
In these sessions we would like to cover:
- Our physiological response to stress
- How to manage stress
- Managing uncertainty and fear
- Staying connected
- Dealing with distress
These sessions are aimed at young people - from Year 9 up to 25 years old.
If you would like to join us for these sessions please register so we know to expect you.
Once you have registered via the button above we will be in contact via email a few days before the first session starts with an invite and link for all three sessions and instructions on how to join. All invites will have the option to join our talks anonymously on the day.
We would be really grateful if you could share this information with young people who might like to join these sessions.
