Childhood Eczema

What does Frome Medical Practice offer?

This winter (2020/21) we will be running an online support group for parents of children aged 15 and under who suffer with the symptoms of their eczema.

The group, which will be held online, will start on Tuesday 17th November and will be followed by further sessions in December and January. The sessions will start at 4pm and last approximately one hour. As this is a support group, it works best if people can join all three sessions.

Dr Alex Clark will lead the group, and will provide information about eczema, as well as facilitating and encouraging discussion about experiences of eczema and the challenges it can present. We hope this will provide parents taking part in the group with mutual support from each other.

The three sessions will broadly cover the following:

Session One – Tuesday 17th November 2020, 4pm
  • Overview of the group – why we’ve invited you to join and what are we trying to achieve
  • What is eczema / eczema terminology / possible triggers
  • Managing eczema – maintenance and treatment
Session Two – Tuesday 15th December 2020, 4pm
  • What changes have you made to the maintenance and / or treatment of your child’s eczema?
  • Queries / challenges / questions for Dr Alex Clark
  • Share experiences
Session Three – Tuesday 26th January 2021, 4pm
  • Further queries / challenges / questions for Dr Alex Clark
  • Final review and any next steps
