Employers Advice

Your employee has contacted us to seek clarification of the steps they should take to protect themselves from Covid-19. This letter is a generic response to that request and has been downloaded from our website www.fromemedicalpractice.co.uk

This guidance is for everyone in England who has been identified as clinically extremely vulnerable. These people will have recently received a letter or previously received a letter from the NHS advising them to shield.

We are aware of the levels of anxiety our patients with long term conditions or pregnancy have, and we encourage our patients to talk with their employers to try to agree a safe working plan during these difficult times. We recommend all employers should be following the guidance at GOV.UK -  Guidance for employers and businesses on Coronavirus COVID-19, and referring to their Occupational Health if further advice is required.

For these reasons, we are unable to comment specifically on the nature or type of work your employees could safely undertake. We hope that the links below help you to make this decision in the meantime.

This guidance applies to clinically extremely vulnerable individuals only. Others living in a household with someone who is clinically extremely vulnerable are not advised to follow this guidance. They should instead continue to attend work and school in accordance with the general advice and regulations set out in the national restrictions guidance from 5 November.
