The New Building Opens on 27th December 2012

The final day for surgeries at Park Road, Saffron and Fromefield will be 24th December. The new building will be open from 27th December. There will be an Open Day for the public to have a tour around the new building on 29th December from 9am until 1pm. We look forward to seeing you there.

Flu Injections 2012

We now have our flu clinics on the 13th October, 20th October and 10 November available to book. You can now book these appointments online and to register for all of our online services click here These appointments can also be booked by telephone 01373 301301 or in person at the surgery. The flu jab is only available free of charge to patients who suffer from the following:

• chronic lung disease
• diabetes
• heart problems
• liver or kidney disease
• lowered immunity
• neurological disease
• or are pregnant
• or aged 65 or over
• or a carer

We are also encouraging all patients over the age of 65 to have the once in a lifetime pneumonia jab. These can be done at the same time as the flu jab, there is no need to pre-book just ask the clinician at the time.

Dr Mark Vose, a partner at the practice since 1990, has been elected as a Fellow of the Royal College of General Practitioners. Dr Vose says that he is extremely honoured by the award made by fellow doctors. ‘My election is a reflection of all the help and support that everyone at the Frome Medical Practice has given me over so many years.’

Patient Survey

In October we are asking our patients what they think about the service at the Practice. Surveys are available at each of our sites however you can download the survey here and post your response to: Louisa Daly, Frome Medical Practice, The Health Centre, Park Road, Frome, BA11 1EZ to ensure your views are included in our future plans. Surveys received after the 7 November will not be included in our results which will be discussed with our Patient Participation group and published on our website before 31 March 2012.

Last year there was a scare due to supply of vaccine and possible swine flu so we are encouraging patients to book early this year.
We have secured more than 5000 vaccine doses but these will be administered on a first come first served basis.
